Our vision is for stronger communities, healthier families and happier childhoods.
To achieve this, we need to ensure that families are supported during difficult times and are given the strategies to manage life’s many up’s and down’s.
Through our Family Support program, we help families who are experiencing crisis; whether it is financial instability, domestic violence, anxiety and depression, adjusting to the demands of parenthood, or caring for children with additional needs.
We provide advocacy, referrals, in-home support, financial aid and supported playgroups. If you are a family in need of support, or if you would like to make a referral, please get in touch.
This program assists families facing challenging circumstances, such as social isolation, single parenthood, anxiety, depression, or the demands of raising children with complex needs.
Families are visited weekly by a trained bestchance Volunteer Support Worker who provides the practical and emotional support needed to manage the demands of parenthood.
Our Community Support program is for families experiencing financial instability, low-income single parents, survivors of domestic abuse, or families at risk of homelessness.
We firstly offer the support to meet short-term, immediate needs; such as financial aid, grocery vouchers, transportation costs, or referrals to housing or crisis accommodation.
We then partner with the family to develop strategies and skills for long-term sustainability.
Our Supported Playgroups provide a link between home and the community for caregivers who are isolated or adjusting to the demands of parenting.
A trained facilitator and a team of volunteers provide a developmentally appropriate play program for babies and preschoolers, as well as the emotional support and social connection for caregivers.
Our volunteers represent the willingness of people to contribute to the care of families, children and communities. They donate their time and skills to assist the work we do in their local areas.
Our programs rely on the selflessness of our Volunteers and could not exist without them. Becoming a Volunteer can be a greatly satisfying experience where you can use your current skills and learn new ones, all while helping local families to thrive.
